Thank you Steven, that was easier than i thought to view on my Phone  LOL.

It is taking me a while to get the hang of these new fangled devices, yeah i can see NOW that it IS compatible with SWIPE

Thanks

Tim

Hi all,  before i pluck up courage to publish my very first Juicebox slideshow, will it be compatible with the SWIPE feature on:-  for example an iPhone  ?.

I have a thing about having a slideshow that can work 100% on my phone, i want to be able to show off my pictures to my dog walking buddies while wandering around my local park !, sad eh ?.   LOL

tim

thanks Steven, that was a perfect solution thanks.

I was obviously giving it far too much information !!  LOL.    BRILL

tim

I have a Flickr Pro account and a Juicebox Pro account, i have come back to Juicebox after a long absence and of course i cannot for the life of me enter the correct details into Juicebox Pro to be able to create a photo album using my Flickr photos.

I KNOW i have got the user id correct and i entered a suitable word into the Tags box, i got the required pictures in the juicebox "images" window and progressed onto the next screen "customise" only to find my User Name is wrong. I thought the user name was simply the name i was logged into Flickr as ?, but it doesnt like that and wont progress any further.

Any ideas please ?.

I dont get anywhere either when i just enter, what i know to be the correct details into the Set Id and User Id boxes

Please what am i doing wrong ?.

Tim

OK, i reckon you bloomin right pal.

Goes to prove what a bloomin mess i am in eh LOL.

Of course i use Jalbum to upload the album

Thanks for your help Steven, i shall have to go back to school, except i dont remember where it is LOL.

tim

hi all, i shall try to make it brief ?
I had a free web space to which i published a Juicebox Album, i found this free web space was DOWN more than it was UP. (Host-Ed)
So i moved my free Web Space to a Paid Web Space (just host) with a different company.
too upload my Album again to the new web space i thought easy, i can find it on my computer and juicebox pro can upload it again !, DIDNT WORK, juicebox couldnt find the correct config.xml file ?

So i then downloaded the whole Album folder from the free web space to my computer, i then uploaded it to my new paid for Web Space, where i can happily say it still works fine.  www.equinutz.net

However the public_html folder that i have on my computer should now be an exact copy of my Juicebox Pro Album, so i thought, it would be easy, to Open it with Juice Box and make some changes.

But NO, same result, only possibly worse, it just seems to hang up, with a continual Hour Glass ??

Where have i gone wrong. Please

tim

thank you steven, i couldn't ask for more, another excellent informative reply, three cheers for steven :)

tim

Am i correct in thinking, that when using my very own Web Space, to publish my Flickr based Image Galleries using Jalbum, that Jalbum will not cause any problems to my Juicebox galleries that up to now i know perform excellently on an iPhone :)

tim

ah, i have since thought, that possibly what i am trying to accomplish is better done and possible using Jalbum using the JuiceBox Skin !!!!!

Can someone confirm please.

thanks.

tim

i have been reading the excellent user guides on multiple galleries and embedding etc.

i want to create a photo album site, which will have many text links or thumbnails to each album, ALL on the sites front (index) page, is it possible to have all these albums taking there set up details ALL from the same solitary JB Index.html and JB config.xml as this would be easier/quicker to create and set up ALL the multiple albums ?

tim

Thank You Steven, i knew you would know the answer, thanks.

I know my way around JuiceBox a helluva lot more now, now i realise the importance of the two files Index.html and config.xml  :)    which i can now easily edit  and upload  :)

thanks for your help Steven, without which i would still be stuck :)

tim

Happily i have at last got a Juice Box (experimental) photo gallery up and running.

I am using the Apple software called RapidWeaver to Compose (Play with) my Pages and Menus etc. I have been experimenting with a few of the slideshows that are available from Developers of RapidWeaver AddOns, i haven't yet found any of these that work perfectly with an iPhone.

After persevering with JuiceBox for a few days i have at long last found what i wanted.

But just when i thought i had cracked it, i find that i don't have a BACK button on my iPhone whereas i DO have a Back Button on my Apple Lap Top. I don't fully understand this because they both use the same CONFIG.XML file

have i found a bug ?, or have i done summat wrong, or perhaps, and this is probably the most likely, i can't have a BACK BUTTON on my iPhone.

the Gallery that i am experimenting with is at http://timparsons.org.uk/juicebox_gallery/index.html

whereas if you want to try the actual link from my experimental site at www.timparsons.org.uk it is a TEXT link just above at the bottom of the page EQUINUTZ

tim

Yeah, :) and if i put the pictures on Flickr (to help my web space go farther) and get the hang of the Embedding and editing the relevant index.html  i am now well sorted. thanks

tim

thank you Steven, that put me right on that query plain enough thanks.

dam me, i have just this remembered what i had read or heard somewhere, it was IF i used the Jalbum Web Space the resulting gallery wouldn't be correct on an iPhone, but if using my own web space it would be perfectly ok :)

and of course i wasn't subscribed to this topic either, hence the delay in my response and thanks, there is no hope for me !

tim

Steven, i do now feel really stoopid, thanks for that info, extremely helpful.

I can NOW tell you what i have just done, i do not know why i haven't done it before ?, i actually looked at the html code, that is INSIDE the index.html file

it all makes far more sense now

tim

I simply would like confirmation of my thoughts, in fact i may have already been told the answer, i just can't find it LOL.

Am i correct in thinking, that IF i want to make Juicebox galleries that display perfectly on an iPhone i DO NOT want to use Jalbum ?

thanks

tim

hi all, i am being a proper dummy i just know i am  :-

<!--START JUICEBOX EMBED-->
<script src="jbcore/juicebox.js"></script>
<script>
new juicebox({
containerId : "juicebox-container",
galleryWidth: "100%",
galleryHeight: "100%",
backgroundColor: "#222222"
});
</script>
<div id="juicebox-container"></div>
<!--END JUICEBOX EMBED-->

the above code has to go in an html page, i can understand that ok, and the page has to be named index.html  ok.

BUT that on it's own doesn't do anything, does it ?

so, please what am i missing please, i will be much happier with juicebox if i could simply understand EMBED even if i didn't actually use it.

I can see how EMBED would be used, i think, it would be used if you wanted to USE the SAME album on your web site but on different page AND a different size

http://juicebox.net/forum/viewtopic.php?id=113
Steven will be saying i have already asked about this before !, but that post was before i actually tried to use it with a published Album :)  I real am a dummy aren't I ?

tim

Thanks :) Steven you have done it again, my word you are a big help to me, i do  hope i don't have to keep bothering you like this. It was a lot easier IMHO following your instructions that the instructions given by Jalbum.

Finally :- How can i confirm that i have carried out my task successfully, is there a way of checking the version number or similar ?
FOR EXAMPLE i still only have the default style available from the drop down box.

i suppose i also have to ask where do i find this form ? and where do i find the names and values ?:-

Once this has been done, Pro Options can be entered into the skin settings 'Pro Options' text area in the form:
optionName1=optionValue1
optionName2=optionValue2

tim

OK then , i have just used the pretty good search facilities of my Mac and i found the folders mentioned above BUT they are in the Downloads folder where i downloaded them to NOT where Jalbum wants them

i dont understand this at all, sorry to be so dim

tim

Hi, below you see some text i found at the Jalbum web site.

I have  installed and have a license for the latest version of Jalbum
I have also installed JuiceBox Pro

Until i do what it says below, Jalbum won't know i have the JuiceboxPro skin

Needless to say i don't understand AT ALL what the text below is trying to tell me !!.

I have an Apple Mac BookPro i am able to get full access to the Applications folder AND the LIBRARY where i usualy find the files of installed Applications, but i am obviously not looking in the correct place for the folders referred to below

Pro Version
=========

A Pro version of the Juicebox is available for purchase from 'http://www.juicebox.net/' and can be integrated into the skin in order to support advanced customization options, remove the branding and remove the image limit.

To integrate the Pro version of Juicebox into the skin, replace the Lite version 'jbcore' folder in the skin's folder ('Juicebox/res/juicebox/jbcore/') with the Pro version 'jbcore' folder from the Juicebox-Pro download package ('juicebox_pro_1.0.2/web/jbcore/').

Once this has been done, Pro Options can be entered into the skin settings 'Pro Options' text area in the form:

optionName1=optionValue1
optionName2=optionValue2

tim

Steven thanks you have come up trumps again, thanks.

Of course the information is already there i just couldn't see it LOL.

tim

I have been having a few dummy run's with the JuiceBox program, at the last stage of publishing i get the option to copy and paste a chunk of code that i need to EMBED somewhere ?.

I am not too clear where this code has to go, EMBED into what, does it form a LINK to the Published Album from my Web Site menu or is it the LINK for the Album itself and has to go on the actual page i want the Album to appear on ?.

Sorry to be such a dummy, its all my fault LOL, but i am getting a bit confused with all the dammed folders i seem to be getting by experimenting all the time, i really need to get organised LOL.

i haven't got the PRO version yet but i will.

tim

Steven, i thank you most profusely for your help and down to earth advice with the answer to my question, i can't possibly ask for more, thanks, you're my hero, ok :)

tim

thank you Steven, i can see now that the information i needed was there all the time, it just needed me to look for it, thanks.

btw. i have of course now installed and it is up and running.

however there is one thing i am unsure about, i got to know about JuiceBox through using Jalbum, with whom i have had an account for a few years.

as i understand it, i can still use the JuiceBox skin in jalbum along with many other skins that jalbum has in it's armoury.

so what advantages are there, that using the juice box lite App gives me over using Jalbum ?.

it is doing my head in trying to think of all the different permutations LOL.

Do i spend my money at Jalbum or at juice box ?

if it helps, i am definitely going to use my own Web Space, as i have to have iPhone compatibility with the published Album.

tim

hi i am very keen on juice box, i would like to install it on my very security conscious Apple Mac !, everything i have installed on my Mac always has the .DMG extension !!!!!!

I now have the juice box file ready to install, but it has the .air extension ????????

can someone please confirm i can install it on my precious Apple Mac, please
