Juicebox v1.2 Released!

Juicebox v1.2.0 has just dropped, and it is a big one! We’ve added a load of new configuration options and fixed plenty of bugs.

NOTE: to upgrade to JuiceboxBuilder v1.2.0, you must first uninstall the previous version. See instructions here.

First up we added the option to place thumbnails on the left or right of the main image, as well as support for multiple columns and rows of thumbnails. We also added a bunch of new styling options including control over thumbnail frames, drop shadows and rounded corners.

We added more control over how galleries handle the ‘Expand gallery’ action on mobile devices. We added a couple of new API events and added support for setting default image sizes in JuiceboxBuilder. Check here for the full list of changes.

As always, Juicebox-Pro upgrades are free within the same major version number, check here for upgrade information. Juicebox-Lite users can get the update here. Please report any issues in the support forum. We’ll be updating the plugins and templates in the next few days.

Using the WP-Juicebox WordPress Plugin

If you are running a WordPress site, the WP-Juicebox Plugin for WordPress must be the easiest way to add a Juicebox gallery to your website.

Once it’s installed, create a new post and click the Juicebox icon to add a gallery. You’ll get a short popup form to customize and add images to your gallery. You can load images from the post’s Media Library, from Flickr, or from a NextGen gallery (new in v1.1.1).

This is what you will end up with:

This example is loading images from Flickr. The gallery automatically scales to fit your blog post and includes an ‘Expand’ button which allows users to see the images at full size. Later on you can edit or delete galleries through the ‘Manage Galleries’ page.

The WP-Juicebox plugin is free to download and use. You can easily upgrade it to unlock Juicebox-Pro functionality. In addition to the WordPress plugin there are also plugins for PhotoShop, Lightroom, Picasa and jAlbum. Check them out here.

Juicebox v1.1.1 Released!

It’s officially summer and time for another Juicebox update! The big new feature this time around is background image support. This allows you to easily add a background image which will automatically scale to fit your gallery. Next up is improved image navigation responsiveness, allowing users to click through galleries faster. We have also fixed a number of additional issues. View the full list of changes.

Juicebox v1.1.0 Released!

Juicebox v1.1.0 has been released! We’ve added some great features and fixed a number of bugs. View the full list of changes.

First off is the new ‘useFullscreenExpand’ option. This allows supported browsers (Firefox, Safari and Chrome) to trigger a true fullscreen mode when the ‘expand’ button is clicked, giving a nice distraction-free fullscreen presentation for your images.

We added a number of additional layout options, specifically we added options to set the horizontal alignment of many gallery elements. There is a new captionPosition option (‘OVERLAY_IMAGE’) that locks the caption area to the width of the main image, and an option to position the thumbnails.

In JuiceboxBuilder we’ve added support for ITPC captions and titles, so that image details entered in Photoshop or Lightroom can be carried over to Juicebox galleries.

We are always working to improve Juicebox. We are listening to your feature requests and adding them to the development queue.

As always, Juicebox-Pro upgrades are free within the same major version number, check here for upgrade information. Juicebox-Lite users can get the update here. Please report any issues in the support forum.
