Try the Juicebox Skin for jAlbum.

Juicebox has two comment tags for each image entry in the XML file which are displayed in the caption area: <title> and <caption>.

Go to jAlbum's 'Advanced -> Metadata' settings tab and select only 'IPTC Caption' in the 'Comment sources' control panel to display the image's 'IPTC Caption' as the Juicebox <caption>.

You can also set the Juicebox <title> to be either the 'IPTC Object Name' (Document Title) or the 'IPTC Headline' by selecting the appropriate source in jAlbum's 'Title source' drop down menu on the same settings tab.
If you choose 'No IPTC' as the 'Title source', jAlbum will use the image's filename (without the extension) as the Juicebox <title>.

The Juicebox Skin is designed to create multi-gallery albums, linked together by a JavaScript navigation tree.
If you wish to make only a single gallery without the navigation tree, deselect the 'Process subdirectories' checkbox on jAlbum's 'Advanced -> General' settings tab.

It looks like it is not currently possible to use Juicebox with a PHP configUrl.
I will log a bug report and hopefully this functionality will be available in a future version.
Thank you for reporting.

I see an option for adding an expand button in the Lite version.

This option is available to Juicebox-Pro, too.
Juicebox-Lite accepts only the Lite Options and the Embed Options on the Juicebox Configuration Options page.
Juicebox-Pro accepts all options on the page.
Just make sure that you have set showExpandButton="true" in your gallery's 'config.xml' file.
Please note that the 'Expand Button' will be displayed only if the gallery is embedded in a page at dimensions of less than 100% of the browser window size. Otherwise, the gallery will already be displayed as large as possible (100% x 100%) and the 'Expand Button' would be redundant.

Font and Font Size options for caption

You can change the font size and font family of the Caption and Title by modifying the CSS in the 'jbcore/classic/theme.css' file.
Change the '.jb-caption' class for the Caption and the '.jb-caption-title' class for the Title.
For more information on creating a Custom Theme (which allows modification of a gallery beyond that which is capable by changing the preconfigured options), please see the Juicebox Theming Guide.

And because that's the default, I assume it's what I already have.

That is correct.

My issue is that the caption only 'sits over main image' sometimes.

It would be more accurate to say that the caption and title sit over main image area.
You could ensure that the caption sits at the bottom of your main image (though it would still start beyond the left of the main image) by increasing the size of your main images to dimensions beyond most monitor resolutions. Juicebox would then dynamically scale your images down to fit the main image area and there would be no space at the bottom of the main image area (below the main image) where the caption is positioned.

@wspollack

When the user clicks on the 'Open Image in New Window' button, Juicebox will open the corresponding linkURL in the 'config.xml' file. (If the linkURL is empty, Juicebox will simply open the imageURL itself.)
You can, therefore, include a 'Hi-Res' folder of larger-sized images and use the linkURL entries in the 'config.xml' file to point to them. (This would have to be done manually as there is currently no automated way to achieve this.)

@Rainer

Thank you for the suggestions.

every wanted look and feel configurable by user (CSS3 and HTML Layout) - most or all of this might be already exist in current version.

Juicebox features many Configuration Options which can be set by the user very easily.
To modify the layout beyond what is capable with the preconfigured options, please see the Juicebox Theming page. This involves modification of the gallery theme's CSS and/or image files.

complete configuration of the Gallery directly in Lightroom

I think it is unlikely that anyone will write a Juicebox plugin for Lightroom with a user interface which features all possible configuration options.
The user interfaces for most plugins (I'm thinking of AutoViewer, PostcardViewer, SimpleViewer and TiltViewer here) feature only Lite options. In order to incorporate Pro Options in a plugin-generated gallery, the user could either manually edit the gallery's 'config.xml' file or open and edit the gallery in JuiceboxBuilder-Pro (which does have all Pro Options available through its user interface).

export as page or embed info for a page.

JuiceboxBuilder-Pro creates a complete gallery folder. The 'index.html' page within the gallery folder can be used to view the gallery on its own page.
JuiceboxBuilder-Pro also supplies the user with embedding code (on the 'Publish' tab) which can be used to embed the gallery in an existing HTML page alongside other content (following these instructions).

Thank you for reporting. Bug report logged.

This is by design. The 'Toggle Info' button toggles the visibility of all elements in the OVERLAY (as defined in the Button Bar Options section of the Juicebox Configuration Options page.
You could either set the position of your Back Button to 'TOP' or overlay it on top of the gallery (but not as part of the gallery) as you have done with your SimpleViewer galleries.
As this is not technically a bug, it might be wise to post your suggestion in the 'Feature Requests' thread so that it is not overlooked. Thanks.

The default drop-shadow will barely be visible (if at all) on a background color of #222222.
Try using a background color of #ffffff (with all other settings default) and the drop-shadow should be visible. (It is quite subtle, even on a white background.)

I see these two issues, too (Win 7 SP1 x64).
I do not know if they can be fixed but I will log a bug report nonetheless.
Thank you for reporting.

It is planned to have a special price if we migrate from SimpleViewer ?

Please see simonjacob's reply below.

It is possible to migrate from SimpleViewer then use the gallery.xml file with some modifications or not ?

Yes. Please see the Convert SimpleViewer Galleries section of the Juicebox Support page for details.

This is due to the default setting of enableKeyboardControls="TRUE".
If you click on the browser's address bar (to take focus away from the gallery), the F5 key becomes active again.
If you set enableKeyboardControls="FALSE", then the F5 key is active, even when the user has been clicking in the gallery area.
I will try to find out whether the F5 key can remain active for both values of enableKeyboardControls in a future version.

Are you able to determine whether this always happens with certain images and never happens with others?
As Felix has suggested, if you could email an image that it always happens with and an image that it never happens with, then that may help us track down and solve the problem. Thank you.

This is by design. Small Screen Mode does not support color options.

I've cleaned everyting up in HTML tidy and used the W3c validation service and yet IE still does not display the thumnails.

Try clearing your browser's cache before reloading the gallery. The thumbnail dots are now displayed in IE9 on my PC whereas they did not previously.

Also, there seem to be no transitions displayed in IE.

It looks like you may have found a bug. Removing the <script> which loads jQuery solves the problem (but then your page's resizing method will no longer function). This seems to happen only in Internet Explorer (not Safari 5.1.5, Chrome 18 or Firefox 12).
I will log a bug report. Thank you for reporting.

You have two instances of Juicebox on your page:

        new juicebox({
            containerid : 'juicebox-container'
        });

... starting at line 49 and:

new juicebox({
containerId : "juicebox-container",
backgroundColor: "#FFFFFF"
});

... starting at line 93.
Both instances are being embedded into the same <div> and the first one is momentarily displayed before the second one replaces it. Because the first one has no backgroundColor explicitly specified, it will use the default color of '#222222' which is what you are seeing as flashing.
Use only one instance and delete the other. If you choose to use the first instance, add the backgroundColor : '#ffffff' parameter to it and leave the following code on your page where the second instance currently is:

<div id="juicebox-content">
    <div id="juicebox-container"></div>
</div>

Hi - Congratulations on the launch of Juicebox!

Thank you!

All is working great on Chrome and Firefox, but when I load my page in IE 8, it loads properly for a second, then the thumbnails vanish.

It looks like your <div id="juicebox-content"> is not closed. Put a closing </div> after <!--END JUICEBOX EMBED-->.
Also, you have an open <p> earlier in your page with no corresponding closing </p>.
You can check your page's code with the W3C Validation Markup Service and fix any errors found.
Once your page validates, it is more likely to be displayed with greater consistency across different browsers and hopefully your IE8 problem will be fixed.
