Thanks Steven - I suspected you would have better/fresher eyes than mine. I will give it a go.

Sounds logical. However, I wasn't able to sort it out for myself... looks like all the Juicebox CSS was very specific and no overlaps in class. So, here's the three bits I added with "color: #fff" added to each:

.jb-caption .jb-caption-title {
    font-size: 17px;
    cursor:default;
    color: #fff;
}

.jb-caption p
{
    margin-bottom: 0 !important;
    margin-right: 72px;    /* equal to "width" in .jb-cap-frame .jbac-number; margin-top is set in code in order to hide the top margin when there is no desc */
    margin-left: 0;
    font-size: 13px;
    line-height: 23px;
    cursor:default;
    color: #fff;
}
.jb-caption a {
    color: #fff;
}

Here's the code for my style.css page:

Hi. I recently visited my website where I have three separate Juicebox galleries, after making a few additions to one gallery. Although the captions looked normal (white) on the Juicebox browser, after uploading , I saw that they were the background colour of the page (dark violet) and unreadable on the web. I then checked the other two galleries and although I had not touched them, they were also displaying the dark, unreadable text. (Incidentally and perhaps coincidentally, an Adobe Air update came through before I posted to my site). Anyhow, I tried running the gallery through to check my setting which were all correct and reloaded the config file, the index file plus the jbcore file, all to no avail. Eventually I solved the problem by manually going into the theme.css files on all three galleries and specifying #fff for all titles and captions. Can you shed any light on this?

Okay. Did everything you said. Seems to work for a bit, providing I restart my computer before opening the program, as trash will not completely empty because for some reason it is using some of the encrypted files, even though the program is closed. So. Restart the computer, install the program and I am fine for a short while until everything freezes again. This evening, I spent half an hour or so re-constructing a gallery by adding a few images and captions. When I was done and went to save it, it would not save and at that point would not open anything else. Again, unresponsive. My version of AIR is 18.0.0.180, which came in as an update minutes before I downloaded Juicebox 1.4.4 for the first time.

I've had occasional issues and bugs in the past and have somehow got around them. Thought it was time I upgraded to the 1.4.4 to see if some issues had been resolved. Perhaps a mistake. I've had many adventures in this process while trying everything suggested on your troubleshooting page. Basically, the program loads and then just sits there. Won't do anything at all.

Okay, I am back after a hiatus. My brother has uploaded all of his gallery folders to the server. When I download them, my Juicebox Pro does not open the gallery. And yet, if they are viewed on the web in their non-embedded state, they seem to run fine. It's just impossible to edit anything if you can't get the program to run its own gallery. So, I would like to send a zip file of at least one of the galleries. How do I attach it, or do you have a support e-mail I can use?

My last post seems to have got lost in cyberspace so here goes again: Still having major problems with Juicebox Pro just "hanging". As previously explained, reinstalling to a new location seems to help temporarily. But after much harangue, I am thinking this has less to do with the relocation and more to do with the "wiping" part. I have found that sometimes when it stops, I can get it working again by sending the "presets" folder to the trash. It instantly recreates it, but more often than not, it is happy for awhile. This is driving me quite crazy; do you have any suggestions?

Hi. My brother and I cooperate on a website that uses Juicebox Pro. We have both been converting from Simpleviewer Pro. I have had some minor issues; some resolved, some lurking in the background. Anyhow, my brother posted on Juicebox Lite forum by mistake, under Jaylambart.  He has been having problems with the captions not coming across from Simpleviewer to Juicebox. Here's the thing.... when I do the conversion on my computer (Mac), it works just fine. When he does it on his (HP) they do not appear. Now, I cannot tell what is going on with his conversion, and I do plan on getting him to send his config.xml file to me so I can have a look at it (he does not understand code). I'll not be able to do this and more troubleshooting till Wednesday, but I thought I might mention this:
All of the gallery conversions I have done for myself up till now (from Simpleviewer Pro to Juicebox Pro) have worked fine and as a result, each folder now contains a subfolder labelled "jbcore" in addition to the remaining and obsolete "svcore" which I have manually deleted.
When I convert my brother's galleries from Simpleviewer Pro, I end up with a folder with no new "jbcore" subfolder at all... just the config.xml file. The svcore subfolder is still there and this seems to be all it needs to run, as it certainly opens up fine and transfers all the captions.

So the mystery still remains about the missing captions on the PC conversion, but I thought that I should figure out if the jbcore subfolder had any bearing on things. As suggested, I would like to provide you with the URL to his galleries which are still in Simpleviewer Pro format. (you have been to this site before): http://www.twolambs.ca/Jcurrent.html. Anyway, if you have any more advice, it would be appreciated; I'll follow more of your directions come Wednesday. Thanks.

Well, did a bunch more work and all of a sudden, presto, it left me hanging again. So I did the "search and destroy" all program files  and re-installed and now it works. Again. Maybe it was something I ate.

Thanks Patrick. Maybe I am not crazy after all. I'm going to have a look again this weekend and see for sure. And yes, my server has been weirdly slow today.

I do not own an iPad.... I had an opportunity to borrow one last evening and my site had never been visited on this device; so the cache could not have recorded it. Yet another Juicebox mystery. I will have to try again on another iPad.

This question involves the differences in gallery display between desktop screen and iPad/iPhone and I presume other tablets. I have set up my gallery on my Mac desktop so that the image is overlaid with the title and caption when the mouse is present on the stage, and to fade out when the mouse leaves the stage. I have selected "Open URL" on the Image Click Mode, which takes the viewer to a high-resolution page. Everything works fine on the desktop but I had the occasion to test it on an iPad last night. On that device the caption does not come up at all, which is not great as all the pertinent info is there. Perhaps Juicebox is not capable of this feature on tablets and I need to have the caption displayed underneath the pic? Here's the link for one of the completed galleries:  http://www.twolambs.ca/Smetaphor.html
Thanks.

Okay, I've been doing the gnashing of teeth. Eventually, I did a search for all Juicebox-related application files including presets and what-have-you and deleted the lot. Then I emptied the trash. Then I re-installed NOT under the usual Applications folder. Can't say why it works but now it works. I'll let you know if it's permanent.

Hi Steven. Thanks for your continued efforts. When Juicebox suddenly stopped running, that's the first thing I did; update to the most recent AIR, hoping that was the problem. No luck. I do not have any anti-virus programs installed on my Mac except for what is automatically included in my regular Apple updates. And it seems odd that they would suddenly lock me out in the middle of working. Could it be that  this might be related to a cookie or facsimile? Does Juicebox have a limit on number of galleries allowed? Is there something else I can try? I have invested dozens of hours building several galleries using SimpleViewer Pro which are becoming obsolete because they do not work on tablets. I certainly would not like to have to start from scratch with someone else's product.

And by the way, I have deleted and re-installed Juicebox Lite and it is working fine. But it just doesn't have the customization I need.

Thanks for your help. Okay, I followed your deletion suggestion with no results.. I have deleted the program a couple of times and re-loaded it from my downloads folder to no avail. I have emptied my trash each time. I have downloaded a new copy from your site; still no luck. I have deleted the original Juicebox Lite and also the Simpleviewer Lite from my Applications file. I have re-started my computer twice after deleting programs and emptying trash. Any other suggestions? This is so weird that it was working fine for maybe four or five days and then in the middle of a gallery conversion, just stopped. Much gnashing of teeth at this end.

Hi. I recently purchased the Juicebox Pro version (5-site license) and have been busily converting my Simpleviewer Pro galleries to Juicebox. Everything going fine till about half an hour ago when Juicebox simply stopped working. I am building two websites with multiple galleries in each. Juicebox seems to load okay, but will not open any new or existing galleries. I tried deleting and re-loading program from my downloads file to no avail. I suppose I could download again from your site, but as I am only entitled to 5 downloads, I am reluctant to do that. I am on a Mac OSX System, version 10.9.2.
