Sorry, I got it to work just now.

Hi Steve,

I figured out this much. It was getting harder and harder to set albums to public. And after investigating last night I eventually found out that Google has blocked this functionality all together.

So I'll be moving my pictures to Flickr.

Another question, is it possible to host pictures on Flickr, and use Juicebox with Fotomoto on my site to sell those pictures?

I am trying to get it to work, but the shopping cart button does nothing when clicked on.

I am testing on http://www.edvervanzijnbed.nl/oezbekistan/

Hello Steven,

since it is no longer possible to create new albums in Picasa and set them to public, I can no longer publish new photo albums to my wordpress installation.

Do you think Juicebox can create a solution for this?

Kind regards,
Edwin

I will nog try this solution because it would affect all albums on my site. I will have to make sure each album is in the order I want. Unfortunately google fotos does not offer the same sort options as picasa did (picasa allowed sorting by filename for example). I actually wonder who is happy with the forced switch from Picasa to Google Fotos, I have only read complaints on the internet.

Thanks anyway steve.

Hi,

how can I sort images in a Google Fotos album using wp-juicebox by name?

Kind regards,
Edwin

That was it Steve.

Come to think of it, I think we did this before. Maybe with the new version the wp-juicebox.php was overwritten.

Anyway it works again, thanks a lot.

Edwin

Hi,

juicebox does not load in all pages of my site. I am using a child theme but I am unable to find where I made an error. I hope you can point me in the right direction.

Juicebox loads on these pages:
home: www.edvervanzijnbed.nl
albumpages like: http://www.edvervanzijnbed.nl/verenigde-staten/#1

But not on the following:
single post: http://www.edvervanzijnbed.nl/centraal- … de-liedje/
search page: http://www.edvervanzijnbed.nl/?s=rusland
some other pages like: http://www.edvervanzijnbed.nl/routewereldreis/

Thanks you,
Edwin

Thanks Steven,

everything solved.

Ok, thanks Steven. I finally understand how the update process works:

1 download the latest version of the plugin
2 download the latest version of the pro files
3 install the new version of the plugin
4 overwrite the jbcore folder with the jbcore folder from the pro files

So, I have that all working now. So I'm ready for the move to Google Photos. But with the new version I've noticed that now on all my galleries Juicebox shows the filename in the overlay. How can I switch that of?

Thanks again.

Where do you get the Album name from in Google Photos?

Also, downloaded the new version (1.4.4.2) and copied the jbcore folder to the jbcore folder under:wp-content/plugins/wp-juicebox

But in wordpress admin it still shows that I am using version 1.4.2.1

Anyway, I can't get it to work with google photos right now.

Kind regards,
Edwin

Hi,

I'm using juicebox for WordPress to show my picasa albums on my blog.

Google announced that it will discontinue picasa, and everybody will have to start using Google foto's.

What do I have to do / change so my albums and new album's will stay visible on my site? Will there be a new juicebox version to support this change?

Thank you,
Edwin

That also works. I'd buy you a beer if I were in the neighborhood Steven.

Just noticed, that the overlay (in this case the full screen button) still shows through. Could that be solved in the same way perhaps. (not a biggie)

That did the trick Steven, thanks man. Did I already told you that you're the best?

Unfortunately, it didn't work. Anyway thanks a lot Steven, you're the best.

Hi Steven,

I asked Stefan the developer of the Hover plugin, but he says he can't help me. So I am now hoping you can come up with a solution.

Kind regards,
Edwin

Increasing the value didn't help, I'll try asking the support team from the Hover plugin

Hello,

is you open my site www.edvervanzijnbed.nl in the first post you see the word 'ger' in red. The red words have a picture behind them which is shown when you hover your mouse over the word.

The picture of the ger (in this case) is shown, but the captions of the images in the widget on the right side (under 'Live' meekijken) show through the hover picture. I tried to change the z-index of the hover pictures to 9999 but that doesn't do the trick.

Can you help me out?

Thanks,
Edwin

I'm using wp-juicebox and would love to have the option to change the working of the full screen button per album. So it would either work like it does now, or open the picture(s) in the default lightbox.

You where right, I work with a child team and first made the change in the child directory. When I made the change in the original theme subdir it worked. Thanks.

that didn't help, any other idea's about in what file I should change the z-index?

for instance if you open the 'foto albums' menu (which is quite high) the captions of the gallery in the sidebar to the right (Live meekijken) shows through. But somehow it doesn't show through if you scroll down and the menu is made sticky.

Hi,

juicebox captions appear on top of Ubermenu and hover elements. How can I push the captions back?

Thank you for your suggestions.

I am using juicebox for wordpress to show my picasa webalbums. It would be neat if the picasa comment system could also be showed on the page.

By default, WP-Juicebox already uses the Picasa 'title' as the image title and the Picasa 'summary' as the image caption. ('title' and 'summary' are fields defined in the Picasa Web Albums Data API.)
If you enter a caption for a Picasa Web Album image, it should be displayed as the image caption in your Juicebox gallery.
If you have an example of this not working, please post a link so that I can take a look. Thank you.

Another option I would like is to have a parameter to force showing the splash page of an album...

This can be achieved by setting showSplashPage="ALWAYS".
For reference, the Splash Page configuration options can be found here.

Thanks for your reply, but what I meant was the comment system of Picasa, e.g. the comments or reactions of viewers to my pictures. The titles and descriptions I have given the pictures are indeed shown just like you explained.

Also I am aware of the showsplashpage=always parameter, but I would like to combine that parameter with a parameter in which I specify an URL where the user would go if he/she clicks on the splashpage. I announce to the readers of my blog that there is a new fotoalbum available in a blogpost. I would like this blogpost to be the splashpage, and when they click on the splashpage be taken to the URL where the album is shown entirely.

Hope this clarifies what I meant.

Thank you,
Edwin

Another neat option would be to show a thumbnail of the previous and next image where the plugin now shows an arrow on hovering over the image.

Another option I would like is to have a parameter to force showing the splash page of an album, clicking on the splashpage would take the user to a page which I can define in another parameter.
