Any files which exceed 2500 px (jpegs) are being refused by juicebox and the error message is that they exceed to 4k px limit

Is this a bug which appeared with more recent versions or air (or something)?

How can get round this and load up to the published 4k px file limit?

thanks

windows 10 (current updated)

thanks - that sort of works but the full sized images are only the smallest of the jpegs available in the gallery

for desktop machines - the splash image is blurrry and I would like to have 2000px wide pics loading for desktop machines

Naturally it would be best to have the appropriate sized jpeg load depending on browser size

any overrides ?

Can I configure Juicebox to either show thumbnails only on a page (i.e. no enlarged image) - and then to switch to full screen on a selected image (with forward back buttons as per standard configuration available in juicebox menu options)

One gets close (visually only) to what I want when one configures multiple columns of thumbs  (that shrinks the selected image)and sets up the main window to open without thumbnails. It would extend the capability of juicebox a lot if this was a standard menu option - but for now I would be happy to manuially tweak one gallery to work in this way. Thanks

2 requests -

first - being able to create a custom link for any file (as per current version) is great but you cannot use the very elegant next/previous navigation clicking anywhere on the right or left half of image at the same time. Basically all the image area is taken up with a next/prev link

Why not make a variant on this? - a button or user defined text link which can appear within or outside the image which will open a new link (in a new window or in an overlay).  The reason this would be great is that we could have a gallery where one could show comprehensive background information about the current image in the form of a uniquely composed page.

If the user does not want a link for any images in the gallery they do not enter a url for that image and there is no button or link showing  - ie  the link is an option on a per image basis.

I for example might wish the viewer to go to a new plage (open new window) where I have detail images and information about how that photo was taken.  There are many things different people could use this for.

second: ability to create thumbnails with the image the same ratio of the original file with padding (if this is required matching the color of the background. Clearly this would not look good if there is a drop shadow on the thumbnail (which would form outside the padding).Presently I regen all my thumbs each time in PS and overwrite the ones created by JB  there may be other ways to get around drop shadow and outlines simply by making JB take the size of the thumb and not work to a standard size. All very well that JB makes neat looking rows of images but the point of having thumbs is to be able to identify an image and having all of the odd sized ones seriously cropped into means that one cannot do that. Being a neatnick is not the only objective

Thanks for noticing that. I had looked at it previously. I cannot quite understand why all my other galleries on the site ended up with imageShadowColor="rgba(0,0,0,0.5)". Using search and replace site wide all pages work fine on the site but there are still problems generating new galleries.

I just made a brand new gallery and went to the config file and there sure enough is nearly the same thing (imageShadowColor="rgba(255,255,255,1
0
0)")

I checked the xml for the preset I had made and that value was in it

I would never have set that on purpose. I wonder what caused the value to become corrupted

I used the same preset on all the other galleries on the site too - so I wonder why they were imageShadowColor="rgba(0,0,0,0.5) which is not what was in the preset

I feel pretty sure I did not resave the preset at any point but cannot guarantee that 100%

I will try to track my process more closely if it happens again

thanks again

I am using the latest juicebox version

I decided to rebuild my site this time without frame borders on the main images

I tired everything I can think of - shadow blur color white, alfa zero or 100%, shadow blur 0

Any or all those work perfectly on windows 8 only in firefox

But on all the other browsers there is a drop shadow on the extents of the image (to the right of my name/logo) on the right

I note that it does not appear on safari and chrome (think it was) on Mac

I tried editing as well as removing the shadow in the CSS to no avail

Appreciate some help on getting this to work
thanks

I think I did this successfully with raleway font  - - the image count number looks to me to be raleway but the captions do not. http://www.philipchudyfineart.com/line/index.html#1

am I able to change the caption font to that google font ?

thanks

I am presently generating a new gallery and just lifting and folding the configuration files into my main web gallery folder - as a fix  - but that is subject operator error (ie put the wrong files in the wrong gallery when tired etc) and the ability to edit the actual gallery within the site structure is what is so nice about Juicebox -and that is not happening now

Yes, I just tried it again

I also tried closing juicebox and reopening it and trying afresh

I prefer not to regenerate the entire gallery because it is way more convenient to get dreamweaver to synchronize the folder and just upload the 2-3 data files, rather than it deciding that all the jpegs and thumbs are new also and need uploading too

I also prefer to change the iptc captions rather than typing them in juicebox - saves me retyping if I ever reuse the images or make another gallery with the same pics

thanks

I dont want to loose the order of the images in an existing gallery but at the same time I have updated the IPTC data and want captions to reflect that. Currently the gallery has no captions.

When I open the gallery and choose show IPTC data for captions it shows the captions which were in the file at the time of the original import.

How can I update them?

thanks

I have 2 templates which are very similar but more importantly identical as far as thumbs are concerned. I have made custom thumbs but anytime I change templates it rebuilds the thumbs and destroys my custom thumbs

How can I stop this from happening

thanks

On 1,3 are we able to configure behavior like small screen without sliding transitions?

What I want to do is to have a page of thumbnails and no enlarged selected picture. When I click a thumb I want to go to full sized single image screen (from which of course one can navigate forward and back until hitting the thumbnails view again)

I get this when using small screen only but the sliding images on high resolution screen are rather overpowering and this is unusable in my view.

So I would either like to change those transitions to nothing - or to remove the larger image when thumbs are shown and each thumb should take me to an enlarged single image page. Second option would of course be best since it would not contradict standard behavior on phones

This variation is one of the most basic classic gallery configurations and if it cannot be achieved right now - it should added to the list of juicebox options.

thanks

Well just for update - I cant really say that it was cloudflare since comcast caches the internet - so I often do not get to see my site updates even if I empty the local cache. So the prior observation that bypassing cloudflare worked is not absolutely  definitive .

That said, although my isp wont admit is, I suspect something changed there - or cloudflare perhaps and today it all seems to work fine on IE via whatever server.

strange but thanks for help with this

The problem has to be caused by cloudflare. If you point IE at http://www.direct.motorimageworks.com/t/#1 (which bypasses cloudflare) instead of http://www.motorimageworks.com/t/#1, the problem goes away and IE works fine with the logos.

I have passed on your observation about mime type handling differences to cloudflare and await their response

Many thanks - I will put that to them  - they already had to allow mime type svg some months ago so that sounds credible

Otherwise I was thinking it might be to do with cloudflare

will report any progress

Here is something interesting:  I downloaded the test gallery from my server (ipower) and uploaded the precise same gallery to another http://derekgardner.com/t/#1

Checking that gallery out on IE here gives me the slide show and show thumbs icons.

Ipower tech support had nothing to say but created a support ticket.

thanks

I use filezilla most of the time and did for the last test gallery. I initially did not have functionality on that server for sgv files till I asked the ISP to activate support for that file type. I will try ask them again if there is some strange thing going on now. I wonder if this is a bug in IE - perhaps I can pose the question somewhere on that.

If I dont get joy soon from these parties, would you be willing to ul your earlier test content to a folder on my server if I supply an ftp login?  We could confirm whether it is sever of upload, perhaps

I am at a loss as to what is going on. I have tried uploading and so on every way I can think of. Here is the latest test http://www.motorimageworks.com/t/#1

I did everything default on iconmoon  and it showed no error messages

I downloaded the original left and right symbols and changed the arrows to delta shapes and uploaded them to icon moon.
this works in IE perfectly well if I open it locally

But it does not display any of the symbols when I view it on the server.

Surely if the ftp method was not correct it would not work with all browsers and the images would not have been transferred

Earlier I also tried duplicating the existing 'play' delta shape play symbol in iconmoon and reversing and shrinking both to make my preferred arrow shapes. I did that so as to avoid uploading and downloading half way through the process iconmoon  - the same effect

I also tried uploading the unchanged svg file from the original juicebox install and putting it on the server and that would not show up either. The server was configured to accept SVG files a while back.

I asked 2 people to test the above link for me with IE and both claimed to get a blank screen with zero showing up

The symbols and pages show up fine on all other browsers on my machine  -  both on and off server

Oh and the example you uploaded earlier in the test gallery worked fine for me here with IE

Is there some kind of security thing in IE which is being triggered on some servers and not others?

appreciate any help

I embedded my juicbox generated galleries under a menu which was created in Adobe Edge.

When a page is reached the juicebox gallery loads before the edge menus -and the whole then suddenly needs to shift down the page. It would be nice for the menu to draw first. I tried putting the juicebox embed code into Edge as a CreationComplete action for the stage - thinking it would only draw after the menu was done but all that does is freeze the javascript for the entire page - so nothing is drawn at all

Appreciate any suggestions

thanks

Can one specify  google fonts in the Gallery Font Face area and if so what syntax would one use?

Otherwise, is there a chance to do this in the CSS. It seems at a glance that juicebox font probably defines the text as well as the buttons - so it is not immediately obvious to me what would define the captions and other text

Appreciate any pointers

Hi  -When I preview the gallery in IE locally on my machines it displays fine but when I upload the galleries to a site they dont work any more. Here is a gallery done with 1.3 which behaves thusly with IE on windows7  http://www.philipchudy.com/transportation/index.html#1

I tried your suggestions above with iconmoon quite  a number of times and ways (editing the symbols in Illustrator as well as just tweaking them in iconmoon - just to be sure it was not something I was introducing externally.

....everything is fine in safari and firefox

appreciated

I have just upgraded from 1.2 and appreciate the new vector symbols but have a problem them not working in IE

Here on http://www.philipchudy.com/transportation/index.html#1 the dont show up in IE - but all is fine in other browsers

I prefer just the symbol as grey on white background but when it did not show up I made the background pale grey  - but they still dont display

I did a small amount of customizing of the font and checked the doc type in the html

Appreciate  any suggestions - thanks

Is there any way I can:

1/change 'AutoPlay ON' to 'autoplay on' and its off state too
My site is all lower case andca ps stand out rather glaringly. I would also prefer to change font size if that is possible

2/To change the pop up button notes similarly  - i.e. 'Show Thumbnails'  to 'show thumbnails'

3/ I did not set out to use captions and titles on my images and have thus not familiarized myself with the entire workings but so far I have not found how to achieve the following:

By default all titles and captions are not seen but when one clicks the info button one has the chance to read either or both of them.

Can this be done ?

thanks

Well, without insight as to how the program works there could be 2 different ways to try to reverse the symbols.

My first approach was to make transparent - on selected buttons that - that which was opaque and vice versa. And that did infact give me a reversed symbol albeit with this funny bits on the left and right. This clearly was wrong thinking in terms of how the program works.

The other approach which does work is to change the color or tonal value of the symbols in the template file - and set the button background to be fully  transparent and there are no edge borders appearing on the buttons.

But part of the confusion is that the software does in fact compensate and reverse the tone or color of the button symbols if the background is the same as the symbol itself. So if you are working with pure white and black you can get rather confused about what the color on the template does.

Oh - there is one last thing  - having forced small screen view the image transition for the individual full page images now defaults to 'slide'. Setting it to 'none' has no effect. Can I change this in the code?  Thanks
