Topic: Opening a gallery for editing

I don't know if I'm just missing something or what, but for the life of me, I cannot get my previously created galleries open in the Juicebox program for editing...

I click Gallery > Open, but all I can view are folders, no matter how deep into the directories I go there are no files to be opened.

I am fairly familiar with the backend and I could go into the XML file if I had to, but I'm figuring if the option to open a gallery is there, I should be able to right?

Can you please let me know what I'm doing wrong.. this is driving me crazy!

Thanks,
Rachel

Re: Opening a gallery for editing

To open an existing gallery in JuiceboxBuilder-Pro, you should navigate towards and select the gallery folder itself (not the gallery's XML file).
Also, the gallery's XML file must be named 'config.xml' and be located directly inside the gallery folder.
If you have renamed or moved the XML file (using a configUrl), then JuiceboxBuilder-Pro will not be able to open the gallery.

Re: Opening a gallery for editing

Yeah, all of that was right, which is why I was confused... But I just figured it out... Because I had other files in the same directory (all the files for my website pages that the gallery goes into) Juicebox must have been confused.  I copied the folder, deleted the other files and it opened just fine.

Thanks!

Re: Opening a gallery for editing

I would recommend keeping each gallery in its own separate folder.
This helps keep things organized and you can then upload the complete gallery folders to your web server and embed the galleries in your web pages using the baseUrl method of embedding as documented here.
