Hi there,

after a while I started to include IPTC captions to a range of images at

https://www.haselau.eu/jb/2025coast/

I worked in Lightroom. saved the metadata within the images and copied them to the already existing juicebox gallery into the respective folder "images"

Started Juicebox and loaded this gallery, all captions are shown correctly within the IPTC line. Saved the gallery and copied the config.xml and the index.html to corresponding folder on the website server.

Unfortunately, no captions are to be seen below the images, rightclick of the servers config.xml displays all captions correct.

Juicebox's "View in browser" works correct - all captions available

What happens? I have no idea anymore..

regards Peter

PS: please close thread - browser needed to be closed completely and reopened again, no wonder.....

Hi Steven,

Hi Steven,

New gallery upload: is there any recommendation the amount of images concerned?

ImagesBuilder crashed twice with 319 images import

regards Peter

Hi Steven,

just to let you know (I'm of course interested what happens in terms of your remarks):

I used an image named "Lübeck's Cheese@Pretzel.jpg" that includes 3 special characters "ü" - "'" (apostroph) ans "@"

Then I created a web- subpage named "Test" and loaded up this image to

https://www.haselau.eu/test.html

absolute no problem, no error (that's what I mean: I'm not used to rename images due to special characters)

Hi

I suggest to show a "done" button pop-up when ->publish ->save is ready

regards Peter

Hi Steven,

thank you for your answer

1. uploading the page yesterday did not result in an "Error 404" page

2. to check the FAQs did not end in a result for this problem

3. renaming the "ü" into "ue" in fact solved the problem - but Juicebox is the first program I use within many years that does not correspond with these "special characters": things like this happened in the late 90s and prob beginning of the new millennium, but not today anymore - all other programs like koken, JIMDO, CARRD etc handle this "problem" easily.

I used these other programs (until I found Juicebuilder) and linked to images either on eg the koken server and/or to the host server at 1&1 IONOS by keeping special characters - there was never the necessity to change anything

Hi,

I'm using your Pro Version Single licence which is declared as "Number of web site domains 1"

The webside domain is www.haselau.eu

The first gallery has been placed by ftp into a folder called "jb", subfolder "2019tavastland"
Second gallery yesterday has been placed into same folder "jb", subfolder "2018nordart"

correct web adresses are therefore

https://www.haselau.eu/jb/2019tavastland/
https://www.haselau.eu/jb/2018nordart/

While the "2019tavastland" gallery works properly the "2018nordart" only shows the loading sign, thumbnails are dark, nothing happens

I understood that the Pro Single Licence means unlimited number of galleries within one website domain - which is www.haselau.eu

Did I something wrong or is there a misinterpretation by myself?

best regards Peter

Hi Steven,

thanks for reply and suggestions You made..

I Tried Showkase and I still wirk with koken, that allows batch processing, too

At least Your suggestion concerning Lightroom will be an alternative, I guess (I use that program), so I will figure out Your workflow

After a while I will report on this!

Thanks for Your assistance,

best regards

Peter

Hi back,

thank you very much for Your assistance - great job..

I used the last suggestion to change the theme.css which works perfect for the caption of all images as I don't use image titles and numbers.

You may look now again on the link I've sent you - hope, you agree :-)

best regards,

Peter

Hi,

I'm Peter from Germany - just bought this PRO version and built my first gallery with 305 images.

Programs button "images - titles and captions" are set to "use none", now I fill by hand the field "caption"

There are eg 10 images with the caption "My dog and I" and the next 5 with the caption "My cat and I":

Do I really have to fill each image caption manually, images ba images? Is there no batch processing?

That would  be a nightmare...

Thanks for help, appeciated,

regards Peter
