Hi there,

I know this is a very old topic, but I'm having difficulty rearranging images that I just posted to my gallery. As mentioned above, they appear at the beginning of the gallery. I can't seem to locate the "Add Media" button when I am in the edit mode of the gallery. I'm wondering if an update has changed the instructions on how to do this? Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Here are some of the image errors that may be relevant.

Hi,

I've been having problems for the past couple of weeks with my photos either not loading at all or taking FOREVER to load. This happens in all browsers. The hosting and network have been debugged, so it seems to be not a problem with them but with the Juicebox galleries. Can someone please help? My website is www.kleibography.com.

Thank you,
Meredith

Hi again,

I've decided that I like the look of the gallery without the splash page, as it looks neater when just the thumbs appear. However, when I click on the first image, it doesn't expand automatically to full-screen, but kind of jumps all over the page. Is there any way to set the thumbnails to expand to full-screen on first click when showSplashPage is set to "NEVER"?

Thanks!
Meredith

Setting the value to TRUE after changing the 3G settings worked. Thank you very much for your help!

Please implement the solution in the FAQ: Why can't I view my gallery on a 3G mobile connection?
In the meantime, please ask your friend to try viewing your gallery over a wi-fi connection and it should hopefully display and function fine.

Well, there's good news and bad news. I implemented that solution, and now my friend can open the galleries on her iPhone when the expand in new page configuration option is set to AUTO instead of FALSE. However, the problem of the galleries not expanding to full screen is still there when I open the galleries on my phone. Do you have any other possible solutions?

The default value for expandInNewPage is AUTO and on iOS devices, this equates to TRUE. Please see here for details.
It should be pretty safe to just keep expandInNewPage="AUTO" (or, indeed, to set expandInNewPage="TRUE") and both settings should certainly work fine.

If your friends were viewing your gallery over a 3G or 4G connection (rather than wi-fi), then please see this FAQ which has a solution to this problem.
Why can't I view my gallery on a 3G mobile connection?

If this does not help, then please let me know what your friends saw instead of your gallery (an error message or a blank space?) so that I can investigate further.

I just did a test with my coworker who has IOS8. I switched the expandInNewPage option on one of my galleries from "FALSE" to "AUTO" and it came up blank on her phone. She is using 4G LTE connection, so it's not a problem with 3G.

Also, I notice that your gallery currently sets expandInNewPage="FALSE". Try setting expandInNewPage="TRUE" instead. When the gallery is expanded from the Splash Page, it will be expanded on a new page of its own (instead of being expanded on top of the embedding page) where CSS conflicts cannot occur.

I hope this helps.

I had it set to TRUE, but then a few friends who use IOS8 said that it wasn't working on their phones, so I set it back to FALSE, and they said it was working. I suppose that it isn't that big of an issue; I just wanted to see if there was an easy fix. Thanks.

Hi,

I use the WordPress Juicebox-Pro plugin and have noticed something strange going on when I first click on the splash page or "view gallery" to open full-screen viewing on mobile. The first time I click it, the image does not stretch across the screen. When I exit the gallery and then click on it again, voila—the image is full-screen. Please see the linked screenshots below to get an idea of to what I'm referring. Any fix for this? Thanks!

Please make sure that you are using the latest version of Juicebox-Pro (v1.4.3). Your Splash Page image should not be cropped like this.

Yes, I do have the latest version, and I am using the Wordpress plugin. This cropping is happening when I use the "splashImageUrl" configuration option to point to an image that I created specifically for the splash page. So I axed that configuration option and went back to using AUTO, where the splash page features the first image in the gallery, but the image is zoomed in and looks a bit awkward. (Please refer to: www.kleibography.com/personal on your phone to see an example.)

The Splash Page is essentially just a link to a full-page gallery so if you do not like the Splash Page using the gallery's dimensions, then perhaps you could create your own version of a Splash Page - an HTML link (whether text or an image) which opens the gallery's 'index.html' page in a new tab/window (with the gallery being the only element on the 'index.html' page embedded at 100% x 100%).

Is that different from the "splashImageUrl" configuration option?

Hello Kleiber,

i hope, i understand your problem. Look at my meta tags "viewport" in the top of my page.

Hi, Peter,

Thank you. I got it all figured out. :)

Best!

I also asked my friend to test my galleries on his iPhone (iOS8), and they did not work, so I also set the parameters to "FALSE" when asking to expand gallery in a new page. However, I see that you also have to lock the viewport in order for iOS to display the galleries correctly. How do I do this (I'm using the Juicebox plugin for Wordpress)?

Nevermind, I figured this out. Thank you!

Hi, Steven,

Thanks. I have tried all of these options, but to no avail. When I set it to "Never", the gallery does not display correctly. The gallery displays beautifully when I use "AUTO", but then I have the problem of the overly large and kind of sloppy-looking splash page. I like the idea of the splash page; I just don't like the size at which it displays.

When I tried making smaller images (no larger than 250px height) to use solely for the splash pages and linked to them using the method above, it cropped it in half and only displayed the right half of the image. Would you be able to suggest a size for the picture so that it fills the screen without looking too large?

Thank you. I should have mentioned that I am not embedding the galleries, but rather using the Wordpress Juicebox plugin. Would the same still apply, and I should just make the edits in the jbcore/classic/theme.css file?

It would be wonderful to be able to configure the size of the splash page images.

Hi there,

I'm currently working on the splash pages for my site and can't figure out how to get the image count to disappear so that it only shows the gallery title and "view gallery". I only want the image count to show on computer-screen viewing, but not on mobile. Is that possible?

Thanks!
