Topic: No Image Size changes in the Lightroom 6 Pro Plug-in?

Hi,

Just starting to use this plug-in in Lightroom 6. I cannot find the area where you determine the output size in pixels for the main image. There are sliders for thumbnails, but not the main image. In the stand alone app, it's the first thing listed. Why no image size output sliders? I certainly don't want my images scaled at the same pixel size for horizontal and vertical. The default seems to be 1024 pixels.

Seems like a no brainer, but where do I set the Image Size?? I shouldn't have to go in and rewrite the code, should I? This is all I can find on your site.

Re: No Image Size changes in the Lightroom 6 Pro Plug-in?

Well, I found where the image size sliders in the Lightroom Plug-in, at the very bottom of the menu, no where near the Main Image Area section. Doesn't have as many controls here for output as the standalone, but at least it's there. ?

Just as a side note, it has been crashing quite a bit running Lightroom 6 on a mac, 10.8.5, giving the can't find the XML message. I just switch modules, and it will run again. Runs well on my laptop and Lightroom 5.

Re: No Image Size changes in the Lightroom 6 Pro Plug-in?

The output dimensions for the main images can be set via the Image Width and Image Height sliders in the Web module's 'Output Settings' section. (Scroll down to the bottom of the Web module's collapsible panels. The 'Output Settings' section can be found between the 'Image Info' and 'Upload Settings' sections.)

Edit:
I was typing as you were posting. I'm glad you found the settings you were looking for.

...no where near the Main Image Area section.

It is common practice for Web Engines (such as the Juicebox plugin for Lightroom) to put output image size controls in the 'Output Settings' section. (The 'Output Settings' section is a control panel automatically created by Lightroom and not created by the Juicebox plugin itself.) The 'Main Image' section in the Juicebox plugin reflects the configuration options found in the 'Main Image' section of JuiceboxBuilder-Pro (the configuration options found here).

Doesn't have as many controls here for output as the standalone, but at least it's there. ?

Lightroom is unable to export multiple different image sizes at once so, unfortunately, the Juicebox plugin does not support Multi-Size Images. If you want to create a Multi-Size Image gallery, you would need to open and edit your gallery in JuiceboxBuilder-Pro after creating it in Lightroom (or use JuiceboxBuilder-Pro to create your gallery).

it has been crashing quite a bit running Lightroom 6

The Juicebox plugin has been tested on and should be fully compatible with Lightroom 6. I have not seen the error message you reported in Lightroom 6 myself (and no-one else has reported it). If you find a sure-fire way to replicate the problem, please let me know what steps I can take to reproduce it and I will investigate further. Thank you.

Re: No Image Size changes in the Lightroom 6 Pro Plug-in?

Thanks for getting back so quickly!

After having the XML error message cover the screen 15 times or more in LR 6, primarily while moving sliders, sometimes just entering figures for the sliders and pressing the return key, I gave up. Another problem was after the navigation buttons disappeared, the Caption bar stayed there and never left.

I launched Lightroom 5 and it worked without a single problem! The only small issue I found was that the main image drop shadow didn't seem to change, regardless of the settings. Otherwise, I was pleased with how everything was working, the caption disappeared properly with the other navigation, etc., which is a nice feature, and came back with a mouse over, as it should, and did in the free version.

I realize these problems can be difficult to track down, especially if no one else is reporting them. I'll let you know if and when I go back to LR 6 and I'll write down a few things.

For fine art photography, this stuff has to work, and work well, or visitors, sometimes important visitors, leave the site. I'll be embedding these galleries, which also worked well.

Thanks for your efforts. I'll add a few ideas in the improvement/suggestions thread. Just what you need...

Best,
Byron

After having the XML error message cover the screen 15 times or more in LR 6, primarily while moving sliders...

The live preview window is updated each time a user interface control is changed but there should be no reason for the gallery's XML file to not be found (unless, for some reason, it is not being generated fast enough for the preview, although I have tested it on a ten-year old single-core PC with 1GB RAM and I still cannot replicate the problem).

The only small issue I found was that the main image drop shadow didn't seem to change, regardless of the settings.

The integrated browser which comes bundled with Lightroom 5 does not support certain CSS3 properties (such as 'box-shadow') so the live preview in Lightroom 5 will not be 100% accurate.
Adobe have addressed this in Lightroom 6 with much better support for CSS3 in the integrated browser and the drop-shadows in the gallery should be displayed correctly in the live preview.

Re: No Image Size changes in the Lightroom 6 Pro Plug-in?

Thanks, Steven. I appreciate you getting back.

The main image drop shadow settings did indeed update in Lightroom 6. Sometimes I see the error message in Lightroom 5, but it very quickly goes away, updates well, and is working fine. Not in Lightroom 6. It was locked up with the screen message and I had to change modules to get it going, which was annoying but worked.

I am running an old operating system...I plan on updating to Yosemite on my desktop and laptop, but I always wait for OS updating (although not usually this long). I like the adage,  if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Thanks again.
