Topic: Juicebox preview in lightroom with a Wide Gamut Monitor

Hello

I have lightroom 5.4. A calibrated wide gamut screen DELL U2711. When a create a gallery inside lightroom the pictured are over saturated in the gallery preview inside lightroom.

After exporting the gallery on my web site, the color saturation is OK in Chrome, Firefox but not in IE. In IE it is over saturated , like in the preview in lightroom, but this is a known issue with IE, color management and Wide Gamut screens

Is their any way to get the good color in the preview in lightroom with a Wide Gamut Monitor

For info all my pictures source is RAW.

Have a nice day

This Adobe Lightroom forum thread may help: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1270848
The original poster uses a Dell U2713 monitor but the problem seems to be similar to yours.

Re: Juicebox preview in lightroom with a Wide Gamut Monitor

Thanks Steven.

But this guy have a general color issue. In my case it is only in the Web Module of Lightroom.  Anyway i have check with other gallery like simple viewer or Jigasawrus and the issue is the same. So it seems it is more linked to LR than to Juicebox. I will check with some lightroom expert and keep you updated

Re: Juicebox preview in lightroom with a Wide Gamut Monitor

It certainly sounds like the problem is not directly related to Juicebox.
Perhaps you could post your query in the Lightroom forum.
Also, Lightroom has just been updated to v5.5 (on 18 June 2014) so it might be worth updating to see if this helps: https://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjourna … lable.html

Re: Juicebox preview in lightroom with a Wide Gamut Monitor

So after some research.

LR need to render the Gallery preview. To render this preview LR seems to use some IE component. And IE is not managing correctly color on WG monitors. Firefox or Chrome yes but IE no.

This should explain the issue

Thanks for your help

Microsoft have never really cared much about colour.  I believe that you may still have to turn colour management on in IE??

Anyway ... you won't have these issues if you play the game the MS way.  They 'expect' all images to be in sRGB.  This is a fairly standard 'conventional monitor' space, in 2.2 gamma.  If you convert all your images to sRGB prior to uploading, then you won't get any nasty surprises, on any monitor, on any Mac/PC or in any browser.

Sure, some of your images which look fantastic in AdobeRGB (or other wide gamut spaces) will not look so good in sRGB (think ... photos of carrots, or oranges) and yes, the tiny number of people surfing the net, who have a wide-gamut monitor will not enjoy your images as much ... but the others who use non-colour management aware browsers or OS's, will not get the fluorescent greens and other horrors.
