I have been doing some maintenance on all of my many galleries. One oddity I found is that though images have the same size (resized by JuiceBox), they are displayed differently. As per my layout, they should use the full width of the container they are placed. But some images use - I reckon - 80% of the total width. As examples:
how it should be http://vande.ch/photos/Azores/index.html#1.
how it should no be: http://vande.ch/photos/CruisePanamaCana … dex.html#1 ( I disabled the transparent background color so as to make it more visible.
Any help or advice how to solve this.
Thank you
Ed

Steven

I really appreciate all your help on this. As mentioned  on my first post, it all started with the gallery not being displayed. Viewing
the config.xml I noted the different font color etc. It was then the only visual clue - however and obviously it was something else.
Since then all galleries display OK in the browser. And  - as you pointed out after researching the Adobe Forum (thanks for that) - it is a DW problem. I can live with that.
Again, thank your very very much.
Ed

Steven
I just now realized that unless you use DW you will not see what described earlier.
I did a print screen and copied to a word doc - hopefully here as attachment.
Thanks
Ed

I use Dreamweaver CC to view and read the xml file and to compile the finished page. I would not know where to look for the language and how to set it to XML if needed. I thought I did attach the xml file with my previous message, so let me try again.
Thanks for all.

Steven
Thanks for your comments and instructions. Needless to say that when I try to make my point, the problem is not replicated. I could open the config.xml in the browser without problem and the gallery also opened despite me inserting all previously removed apostrophes and quotation marks - the caption text are always inserted using the Juicebox interface.
I am still intrigued by the fact that the config.xml font color changes to green as soon as an apostrophe - or quotation mark - is found anywhere in the caption text. I am attaching the xml file for you to have a look - particlarly on line 53. The next caption text and all following are green. If I delete the closing quotation all the caption text turn back to blue.
Thanks for your patience.

I am aware that this topic has been discussed on the forum, however I still do not know hot to solved it.
I recently moved my hosting provider which uses Linux. I found out the hard way, that Linux is very restrictive regarding the use of special characters.
While writing captions for the galleries, I often use apostrophe, like in this sentence: The cathedral's four rectilinear stained glass windows.
I notice in the config.xml that whenever the apostrophe is inserted the captions caption text after - and all the way to the end - turns green. When that happens the gallery is not displayed at all.  If I correct it (removing the apostrophe), the gallery is displayed. BTW the same happens when using quotation marks.
Is there any way to solve this?
Thank you
Ed

While there is no reference to background-color in the preset, nor in the embedded code, I still get a background-color(balsk.ish) when viewed in the browser. Is there any way to suppress the background color from showing or to set it to transparent?
Thanks for any help
Ed

Hi Steven

The problem was related to case sensitivity. I found in several folders that in the Pics folder, the sub-folder image was inserted with a uppercase "I" while the config.xml listed the URL with a lowercase "i".
I went thru all the directories to fix it.
Thanks for you help.

P.S. Let me say furthermore that - also as per previous experience - the Juicebox support is top-notch ! Thank you.

I searched this Forum for answers, however it is a mistery for me why in some of my pages the images are not being loaded when viewing in the browser.
What i tried: changing the image preloading to Next
Viewing in other browser: my default browser in Chrome. Viewing in IE same results. Cleared all cache on the browsers. Viewed on different PC's, iPad etc.
Checking individual images: if I point to specific images, the are displayed
I can see the captions but not the image. The JuiceBox icon keeps rotation forever.
Here is the URL: http://vande.ch/photos/ItalyCroatia/index.html
Other pages using the same layout and the same JuiceBox Presets work fine, e.g.
http://vande.ch/photos/SouthAmerica/index.html#1
My JB version 1.51

Appreciate any help.
Thanks
Ed

Thanks Steven. Found it.
I should read the config options more often.

Ed

Don't if this can be changed.....I have captions that run "overly-Image" and I feel the time the caption is visible is rather short then it fades out until the mouse is moved over it. Is there a chance to change the time it should stay vsiible?
Thanks
Ed

Hi Steven

Great, thanks.

In previous post related to this issue, I noticed a reference to a file "config.php" which I can not find.
Is there another options/fix to avoid the image title being shown in the caption line?
Thanks
Ed

Brilliant ! Works fine. Thank you

Following suggestions previously made on this topic, I inserted the code into the style sheet. However, every time I need to update the gallery and publish/save it, the style sheet is rewritten and the additional code is gone. Anyway to get around this?
By the way, the same happens if I add the code to the index page.
Thanks
Ed

Thanks for all. I will follow our recommendations.
In the meantime I already corrected some items and added a <div class="content" style="height: 90%;"> which solved the problem with having to scroll up or down. Still working on it.

Thanks for your reply. One problem is solved: the Navigation menu now appears on the top. However, no matter how I configure gallery height and/or screen mode, the image does not resize in either PC or iPad. The latest settings are: GalleryWidth:100%, GalleryHeight 600px and Screen Mode: Auto. Here is a link to the page: http://vande.ch/gallery/index.html
Appreciate your help. Ed

I created a simple navigation menu. I embedded the JB into the index page containing the nav. However when I open the page, I can quickly see the nav menu and then it disappears. I the noticed that the nav menu is now placed on the bottom of the page and some times invisible. Appreciate any help.

Brillant!

It was the missing enableDirectLinks="TRUE". All working now. Thanks

Ed

I've been using Juicebox for many years and as of shortly the links in a embedded page stopped working.
Example: www."website"/NewMexico2017/index#27 which means goto image 27 on the juicebox index page.
As I mentioned before, all such links worked until recently. It is when I create a new page, it doe not work anymore.
Appreciate all your help

I am using the "baseUrl" method to embed JuiceBox into an existing html page. On this page I have a Navigaion menu which should point to a specific image in the gallery. However since the images are located in an external folder this is not working for me, or rather it would work using the path to the folder which would of course open the image in a separate page. What I wish to accomplish is a sort of a "bookmark" on the image where the menu item would point to. Can this be done?
Thanks
