If I go to this page: https://inmagicland.com/2025/11/red-hea … w-camping/ and scroll to the bottom to view the gallery, I see the captions for each image but NOT the filename, on Firefox. If I do this again with Chrome, I see the filenames also, on each image, which is not desirable in my case. I captured some screenshots but I get a message that they are too large to upload despite some aggressive reduction. The above was observed on both a MacBook Pro and a PC.

My ~200 galleries just went blank

I have almost 200 Juicebox galleries and based on some spot checking they've all gone blank - just a useless black blob now. Any help appreciated! See example here, at the bottom of this blog post: https://inmagicland.com/2025/09/keiths- … al-coffee/

A few things that might be relevant. Recently I changed to a new hosting provider (Hostinger). Then, last night, I added a new Juicebox gallery from a NextGen (Imagely) gallery, as always, and put the shortcode in a new draft post. However, in the preview I got an error: "Juicebox Gallery Id 195 cannot be found." (see recreation of this below).

I also tried to point that new gallery to an old NexGEN gallery to see if that would work. Then I disabled and re-enabled the Juicebox Wordpress plugin. One of those things somehow made all the galleries go blank... I can still see my galleries listed on the Juicebox plugin page as before, linked to posts as before, but they seem to be blank on the actual posts.

This other one, gallery 192, was blank yesterday, but then I added a new Juicebox gallery (gallery 195) linked to the same Nextgen gallery and then the original gallery (192) seemed to have sorted itself out and started working again. I've also inserted below it the new gallery 195 that isn't working (and is for all intents identical to gallery 192 now, after editing it), so you can see the error message. Look at the bottom of this post, there's the working gallery 192 (that went blank initially), and then gallery 195 which gives the error: https://inmagicland.com/2025/11/red-hea … w-camping/

Config XML not found

I've been using Juicebox Pro for many years and have hundreds of galleries on my website (http://www.edpeet.com/).

No changes have been made to my website in several months, but suddenly Juicebox fails with the message "Juicebox Error: Config file not found." in place of where the Juicebox gallery should be.

I've searched this forum for this error, but I'm already doing everything that is mentioned in the fixes. Besides, like I mentioned, I haven't changed anything on my website in months.

All of my galleries are one level deeper that where the gallery should display; i.e. they are all in a subdirectory "gallery".

An example of my embedded code is shown below.

One weird thing is that Edge shows the gallery on my home page, but won't show any other galleries. Chrome and Firefox don't show any galleries. My default browser is Chrome.

I believe that all the web browsers recently updated. Could they have done something to prevent them from finding config.xml? I've looked in quite a few of my "gallery" directories and they all contain config.xml.

One other thing: I used to have a login to juicebox.net, but it doesn't recognize my login anymore. I tried "resetting my password", by no email was received. Could this have something to do with the problem? I know that my free support has expired, but I'll be glad to pay for additional support.

An example of my embedded code is:
<div class=juicebox>
<!--START JUICEBOX EMBED-->
    <script src="gallery/jbcore/juicebox.js"></script>
    <script>
  new juicebox({
    baseUrl : 'gallery/',
    containerId : 'juicebox-container',
    galleryWidth : '900',
    galleryHeight : '600',
    backgroundColor: '#000000'
  });
  </script>
<div id="juicebox-container"></div>
<!--END JUICEBOX EMBED-->
</div>

Thanks for your help.
Ed

Hi,

The other day when I viewed my site I got error message saying that Juicebox could not find the config file. So checked on the forum to see if other people were having or had problems with this. Saw in one post that support could not access the file direct which was that person problem.
So tried to access the config file direct got error message blocked by Web Application Firewall.
Check on my hosting no option for any firewall. Emailed the tech support for my hosting. Various emails bouncing back and forward of what is the problem. Reply we have passed this on to the technical team. Checked website now unable to access it at all. Queried why is the site unavailable.
Turns out that the Juicebox coding is hitting OWASP rule 930130 so my site has been taken down.
Been advised the best solution is that the config.xml file be renamed to something that is not on https://github.com/coreruleset/corerule … files.data
Is this an easy fix?

I've done a lot of searching and can't find a solution?

Any help on this is appreciated, thanks.

Best file size and Showkase website selection choice

Currently I export from DxO PhotoLab (raw-to-jpg) using a resizing mode (longest side) of 800 pixels for small devices (e.g. mobile phones), 1280 pixels for regular (e.g. tablets), and 1920 pixels for large devices (e.g. monitors). After building my gallery with JuiceBox, I copy over the files it generated with those I generate from PhotoLab because I can select Bicubic sharpen in PhotoLab during the export. I find the JuiceBox generated images soft and this fixes the problem.

From my testing this seems to work well, but I’m interested in getting thoughts on whether these sizes are still the best choices based on current hardware capabilities. Also, is there a way of knowing which size file Showkase chose to use on a particular device?

Thanks,
Brian
